I have been very reckless lately. This month (April 2011), 2 mishaps happened on me due to my extreme recklessness.
Case 1:
Last Saturday (2/4), there was a ARCS Workshop where a few of the ARCS members were invited to campus and give a talk on telecommunication thingy and organized a “Fox Hunt” here. As part of the committee, I was assigned to prepare lunch for those attending the workshop (students, lecturers, and the ARCS members). I told the food cater to come at 11.30am, but he delayed it till 1.30pm. So, I went to the library to wait while procrastinating over the net. Around 1.30pm, finally he arrived. Leaving my stuffs in the library, I went down to meet him up. Made payment and carried those food to the attendees of the workshop with assistance from a few of my friends and then arranged the lunch sets. Talked with a few friends/attendees while having lunch together with them. Doing this and that for awhile, I totally had forgotten the time! By the time I got to know it’s 2.30pm….only then I remembered the library will be closed at 2pm every Saturday. Running up to the library, I prayed hard hoping it’s still open or so. But sadly…it has closed! My Nike backpack, and all my notes, pencil case……everything….were there! *Sigh*
See how reckless I am… Being a little panicked, I went down to the Marketing Department to seek for help. See if any of them have access to the library. Unfortunately, one of the Marketing staff said no one has access to the library because the library will be locked manually. And only librarians hold the key. So, I have to wait till Monday only then I can get back my stuffs. Luckily, I brought my purse and car key along with me. Went back moodily…but thanks to Facebook that I managed to find one of the librarians there. Told her about my case and she is waaaay to kind to open the library for me the next day (Sunday) to get back my bag and stuffs. *phew, sigh of relief…everything’s there, remained untouched* Lucky me… =)
Case 2:
This Friday (8/4), I had a discussion with my group member at the lab. Discussion was in the morning until around 12.45pm. Then we had lunch together somewhere around the town area. In the afternoon, being too lazy…we agreed to go back home and continue our stuffs instead of going back to campus again. We were both too tired, haha. Upon reaching home, I slept until around 6pm in the evening. Then watched drama, bathed, dinner. Around 7 something, when I wanted to continue my coding (saved inside my pendrive), only then I realized it’s gone! Refreshing back, I had left it in the lab. Sigh. This is already not the first time that I’ve lost my pendrive. Previously, I lost my 8GB handy, and those guys got me a 16 GB handy as my birthday present last year. And this pendrive that I’ve lost is that 16GB one given by my bunch of friends! 
And, all my assignments and softcopy notes, tutorials etc all inside. Damn!
Feeling restless, this time…miracle just happened. I received a FB message from a guy (whom I don’t know…and he’s not in my FB friend list) saying my pendrive is with him and he asked me to collect it back from him on Monday. But I need my handy the soonest possible (as there’s one or two assignments due next week), so I requested to get it back from him the next day. Without even hesitating, he just agreed to meet me up in campus the next day (Saturday) to pass the handy back to me. He’s another angel being sent from Heaven, haha! And, I got back my pendrive…and I got to know a new friend! 
I’m just waaaaay lucky to have these 2 angels appearing in my life. Nevertheless, these two mishaps taught me to be more careful next time because luck doesn’t always stand by my side. Cheers!
